 // Transportation Development Act Administration

The Transportation Development Act (TDA) was enacted by the State Legislature in 1971 to make funds available for transit, pedestrian way and bikeway projects, transportation planning, ridesharing and street and road improvements. Funds for the TDA come from 1/4 cent of the retail sales tax (for LTF), and from sales taxes on diesel fuel (for STA). These funds are allocated annually by the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) to eligible claimants under two funding programs: the Local Transportation Fund (LTF) and the State Transit Assistance (STA).
