The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) addresses issues of mutual concern among local agencies within the San Luis Obispo Region. The agency serves as a forum for transportation planning and area wide issues, preparing regional plans and programs. At the August 6th SLOCOG Board meeting, San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport presented an update on the status of air service -- CLICK HERE for the presentation. Review SLOCOG's Approved 2009 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) here. Local Officials held a Press Conference at 12 pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the San Luis Obispo County Courthouse in opposition to the raid on local government funds to balance the state budget. The 2008/2009 Annual Unmet Needs Report is now available. Triennial Performance Audit Executive Summaries are available for SLO Transit, Regional Transit Authority, and the County Transit Services. Comments will be accepted through July 7th and the scheduled public hearing for adoption is at the July 16th Board Meeting. The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is underway. In February 2008, SLOCOG will make major funding investment decisions on key regional transportation improvement projects consistent with SLOCOG's Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), including blending of improvement types on the state highway, in public transit, as well as other measures that enhance the efficiency of the transportation system will be considered.
